Review & Description
We live in an age of convenience. From the moment we wake in the morning until we return to our beds at night, every part of our day is designed for maximum efficiency: What we wear, where we go, what we eat. Although this makes our life easier, it also sometimes prevents us from appreciating the simpler things in life.
Only a few generations ago, making bread at home was a daily task for every family. Before inexpensive, mass-produced breads became available, in nearly every home, breads were lovingly created each day. The dough would be started early in the morning, often before the sun came up, and throughout the day it would be allowed to rise in a warm, draft-free spot until mid-afternoon, when it was baked in the oven so that it could be ready when the family gathered around the dinner table to enjoy their daily bread. We live in an age of convenience.
